Slovakia Average Temperatures

Slovakia weather is classified as continental, its four distinct seasons being one of its main characteristics. Situated in the northern European moderate climatic zone, Slovakia weather follows similar patterns to those typical of the area: in other wotds, winters in Slovakia tend to be cold and dry and the summers hot and humid.

Temperatures in the capital city of Bratislava hover between -3° to 2° C (27° to 36° F) during January, the country’s coldest month, and between 16° to 26° C (61° to 79° F) in July. The city also enjoys considerable precipitation, averaging around 650 mm (about 26 in) annually. In areas of high altitude, conditions are significantly cooler to those the rest of the country experiences; snowfall is frequent, usually occurring for as many as 130 days each year.
